Season Two for Lamond

The West Yorkshire Hawks are delighted to confirm that Katie Lamond will return for the 2026/27 season, continuing with the women’s team for her second campaign in Neon and Navy.

Lamond was an important part of the Hawks’ inaugural NBL season, bringing a deep understanding of the game, a high level of versatility and a commitment to doing whatever was needed to help her teammates and the team succeed.

Her willingness to contribute in every area of the game made her a valuable presence throughout the Hawks’ first season, and she will now look to build on that experience as the team prepares for its second campaign.

Reflecting on her return, Lamond said, “I’m grateful for the opportunity to return to Hawks for a second year! I thoroughly enjoyed my senior national league debut last season, and I can’t wait to compete in a Hawks jersey once again.

“I feel like we were really starting to build something special in our inaugural season, and now that the foundation has been set, I am beyond excited to share the floor with both familiar and new faces for the upcoming 2026/27 season.”

Head Coach Marc Holmes is delighted to have Lamond back and believes her influence will be important both on the court and within the group.

Holmes said, “It is so important that Katie returned for this season. Alongside being a very high level, versatile player, she really helps bring the team together and raises our standards as a whole.”

With pre-season preparations underway, Lamond is now back working alongside her teammates as the Hawks build towards their second NBL campaign. With familiar faces returning and new additions joining the group, the team will be looking to build on the foundations established during their inaugural season when they return to competitive action in September.

More announcements will follow as the countdown to the new season continues.
