Pilkington Brings Top-Level Experience to Hawks
The West Yorkshire Hawks are proud to announce the signing of Dan Pilkington for the 2025/26 season. The 6’7” forward brings a wealth of experience to the roster and is expected to play a major role in strengthening the Hawks’ frontcourt.
At 33 years old, Pilkington arrives with an impressive playing history, having competed in higher divisions across the country, including a spell with the Manchester Giants in the UK’s top league. His presence fills a vital need for the Hawks, who lacked veteran depth in the frontcourt at times last season.
“When Coach approached me to join the Hawks, he spoke about the club, the players, the game day set up and the club’s values. It was a no-brainer for me. I’m excited to get on the court with the guys in front of the fans, and giving them something to cheer for. I’ve played for and won with Coach Byrne before, and the goal this season is no different,” said Pilkington.
Head Coach Danny Byrne is equally excited to reunite with the experienced forward. “It is great to be working with Dan again. He brings some great experience to the Hawks roster and will play a really important role in our rotation this season. Alongside this I am sure his presence will certainly help some of the younger guys development.”
Pilkington will link up with his new teammates next week as the Hawks begin pre-season training, with preparations well underway for the start of the regular season in late September.
