Hawks Women Set for First Home Game of the Season

The West Yorkshire Hawks Women take to the court at the Hawks Nest for the first time this season on Sunday as they welcome Myerscough College to the University of Huddersfield.

After beginning their campaign on the road against a well-organised Trafford Mystics side, the Hawks have used the past two weeks to learn from that opening game and continue developing as a group.

With several new players settling into the squad, every training session has provided another opportunity to strengthen the team’s chemistry and build a clearer understanding at both ends of the floor.

Head Coach Marc Holmes has been encouraged by the work taking place in training and is excited to see the team play in front of the home crowd for the first time.

Holmes said: “I’m super excited for the game this weekend. Our first game ended in defeat, but this is our first one at the Hawks Nest. The team have been working on their defence and offensive sets, and we’re looking forward to putting that work into action on Sunday.”

The Hawks will now look to demonstrate their progress against Myerscough and deliver a determined performance in front of their home fans.

Holmes added: “If you’re about, please come down and support us. It’s a 1:45pm tip-off and we’re super excited. Let’s go, Hawks!”

The Women’s Team’s first home game of the season tips off at 1:45pm on Sunday 4 October at the University of Huddersfield. Come down to the Hawks Nest and get behind the team as they take on Myerscough College!
