The West Yorkshire Hawks Women return home this weekend for one of their toughest tests of the season so far, facing off against high-flying Birmingham Rockets at the Hawks Nest.

Coming off a gritty, hard-fought loss to Tees Valley Mohawks, the Hawks sit 9th in the standings as they continue to build experience and resilience in their first season in the NBL. Saturday offers another major opportunity for growth and a chance to compete in front of what’s expected to be their biggest-ever home crowd.

Standing in their way are the 3rd-placed Birmingham Rockets, who arrive in Huddersfield after a narrow three-point loss to Milton Keynes Breakers. With both sides coming off tough games, this matchup promises to bring energy, urgency, and a real edge.

Player-coach Millie Oates knows the scale of the challenge and is embracing it saying “It is going to be another tough challenge for us this weekend but that is the way it should be in our first year in the NBL.
