Hawks Swoop For Misambu
The West Yorkshire Hawks have made another offseason move, signing Jacques Misambu, a 6’2″ guard known for his high-tempo, physical style of play. Misambu, who most recently played the past two seasons in Division One for the Bradford Dragons, brings high level experience and a tough-nosed approach that fits perfectly with the Hawks’ identity.
A product of the City of Leeds and Derby Trailblazer basketball programs, Misambu has developed a reputation as a relentless competitor on both ends of the floor. His ability to impact the game as a two-way player makes him a valuable addition to the Hawks roster. At 6’2″, Misambu’s versatility stands out—he’s a player who can move between the back and front courts, giving Head Coach Danny Byrne a valuable piece in his rotation.
Byrne is excited about the signing, saying, “Jacques is a good two way guard, who is a natural leader. I think he will have an impact on both ends of the floor and I am excited to start working with him. I think his work ethic will make him a fan favourite pretty quickly.”.
Jacques Misambu, brimming with enthusiasm about joining the Hawks, said, “I hope to bring a lot of energy on both ends of the floor. I am all about hard work and a positive attitude. I am looking forward to playing with my new teammates and getting to know the Hawks community and pushing for that promotion”.
As the Hawks begin preparations for the new season at the University of Huddersfield, Misambu will join his new teammates this week. With a mix of seasoned veterans and emerging talent, the Hawks are looking to make a statement in the upcoming campaign.
