Hawks Soar To Victory Over City Of Leeds
In a thrilling National League Division Three (North) encounter, West Yorkshire Hawks secured a resounding 75-59 victory against the City of Leeds. Right from the opening tip, the Hawks displayed their dominance, storming to a commanding 26-9 lead at the end of the first quarter. This early lead set the tone for the match, and the Hawks managed to maintain control, leading 36-24 at halftime and 55-43 as the third quarter came to a close.
While the young City of Leeds roster displayed commendable determination and resilience, never giving up the fight, it was the West Yorkshire Hawks who asserted their authority on the court for the majority of the game. The Hawks’ victory was attributed to their excellent transition offense, a formidable interior defense, and outstanding teamwork on both ends of the floor.
The Hawks’ leading scorers were Rob Donaldson, who contributed an impressive 28 points, followed by Chris Sibbett with 14, Jermayne Laing with 12, and Charles Olusunmade adding 10. This well-rounded performance underscored the strength of the team’s collective effort.
