Hawks Roll Past Kings

The West Yorkshire Hawks ended their two-game skid in emphatic fashion, securing a 109-55 victory over Manchester Kings on the road. The win showcased the Hawks’ defensive intensity and offensive depth, while the Kings continued to search for their first victory of the season.

The Hawks set the tone early, holding Manchester to 10 first-quarter points and establishing a 12-point lead. Their defensive pressure remained relentless in the second quarter, while their offense found another gear, building a 49-20 advantage by halftime.

Manchester responded with improved offensive execution in the third quarter, but the Hawks continued to push the tempo and extend their lead. Determined to close out the game strongly, West Yorkshire kept their foot on the gas until the final buzzer, securing a confidence-boosting 54-point win.

A balanced scoring effort led the way for the Hawks, with Dave Walsh (16 points), Charles Andrews (15), Joshua Griffith (14), and Jermayne Laing (14) all making key contributions. Ethan Liburd (11) and Josh Forde (10) also reached double figures in the well-rounded team performance.

Hawks head coach Danny Byrne was pleased with his squad’s response after back-to-back losses saying “The guys bounced back well today. The result is one thing, but for me, it’s the team performance that I’m most pleased with. Every single player made the most of their minutes on the floor. That is something we need to make our default for the remainder of this season,”

The Hawks now return home for their final two regular-season games, beginning with a matchup against Sheffield Elite at the University of Huddersfield. Tip-off is set for 6:30pm, and fans can get 25% off tickets by visiting this link and using the code HAWKS25.
