Hawks Renew Partnership with
University of Huddersfield

The West Yorkshire Hawks are proud to announce the renewal of their partnership with the University of Huddersfield, reaffirming a shared commitment to developing an elite basketball programme that empowers student athletes to thrive both on the court and in the classroom.

 

Building on the incredible success of last season, where the University of Huddersfield’s men’s team earned promotion in their first year as part of the Hawks family, the partnership is set to expand in exciting new directions. The upcoming season will see the University introduce a second men’s team and launch of a women’s team, both competing in BUCS (British Universities & Colleges Sport) competitions.

 

As part of this renewed collaboration, the Hawks will also establish an Under-23 Men’s team that will compete in the Leeds League. This roster will combine promising young players from the Hawks’ NBL programme with standout talent from the University of Huddersfield, creating a development-focused squad designed to nurture future stars of the game.

 
A key part of the programme will be the scholarship opportunities available for student athletes, enabling them to combine their academic studies with a high-level playing career. These scholarships provide vital support, from access to top-class training facilities and coaching expertise to help with balancing academic demands and competitive schedules, ensuring players can excel both academically and athletically.
