The West Yorkshire Hawks Men’s team launch their third National League campaign this Sunday, 28th September, with a high-stakes opener against a familiar rival — the Tameside Vikings. Tip-off is set for 1pm at Active Copley.

After finishing a strong second in the league last season, the Neon and Navy are back with their eyes firmly on going one better this time around. But their journey starts with a tough test. The Vikings were one of only three teams to defeat the Hawks last season, and both matchups were battles from start to finish.

Head Coach Danny Byrne is eager to see his squad put down a marker: “Season openers are important. I want us to set an early tone for our intentions this season. The guys have been working hard in preseason and now is the time to bring that all together on Sunday.”

Fans eager to see the action live at home will need to wait until Saturday 11th October, when the Hawks host their first game of the season at the Hawks Nest at the University of Huddersfield.
