Hawks Men Head South for Playoff Battle

The West Yorkshire Hawks men’s team are gearing up for a huge postseason test this weekend as they travel south to face Gloucester Kings in the quarter-finals of the playoffs.

Tip-off is scheduled for 2pm on Sunday at St Peter’s RC High School in Gloucester, with a place in the semi-finals on the line.

This matchup pits two of the strongest sides in their respective divisions against each other. The Hawks come into the playoffs off the back of an impressive 14-4 regular season, securing a second-place finish and building strong momentum heading into knockout basketball. Standing in their way are the Gloucester Kings, who have been nothing short of dominant this season, completing a flawless 18-0 record.

The Neon and Navy know the size of the challenge ahead, but there is real belief within the group heading into this one. Head Coach Danny Byrne shared his thoughts ahead of the trip: “Clearly this is going to be a real challenge for the guys but I know they are up for it. We have been preparing hard for this game and will go into it knowing we are more than capable of winning. If we deliver a performance to be proud of we can win this one and progress to the semi finals”.

With everything on the line, the Hawks know that a victory on Sunday would not only be a statement result but also a ticket to the semi-finals. Should they advance, another away trip is likely, with the next round set to take place in early April.

The stage is set for a high-level playoff battle, and the Hawks will need to be at their very best.
