Hawks Fall On The Road To LDM

In the showdown between the West Yorkshire Hawks and Leeds LDM, the latter emerged victorious with a 83-69 triumph. The game was a rollercoaster of momentum shifts ultimately tilting in favor of LDM.

Hawks seized control of the game in the opening minutes. However, a pivotal ankle injury to Charles Olusunmade shifted the narrative midway through the first quarter, unleashing a turning point that favored LDM. Leveraging the experience of seasoned players, LDM swiftly capitalised on this opening, establishing an impressive halftime lead of 46-31.

The Hawks struggled to regain their footing until the latter stages of the third quarter, showing glimpses of their potential. Yet, their aspirations for a comeback were thwarted by yet another injury, this time to Jamie Cawtheray, effectively ending their comeback hopes.

Top scorers for Hawks were Rob Donaldson with 19 points, Jamie Cawtheray contributing 14, and Charles Olusunmade adding 13.

“Once again, we have great spells in a game but are unable to maintain our focus. It is frustrating for both the players and the coaches,” expressed Hawks Head Coach Mark Mills. “We know how good this team could be but haven’t been able to find the right formula on the court yet. We need to show some character at the moment, especially as we have 7 players currently either suffering or recovering from injuries. It is time for us to dig deep.”

The Hawks find themselves in a critical juncture, tasked with overcoming both on-court challenges and the adversity of injuries. As they navigate this demanding period, the call for unity and perseverance resonates strongly within the team’s ethos. With determination and fortitude, the Hawks aim to unearth the winning formula and rise above their current setbacks.

With their sights set on redemption, the Hawks gear up for a crucial showdown on their home court next Saturday, the 25th, against the Calderdale Explorers. This presents a pivotal opportunity for both teams to turn the tides and regain momentum. As they brace for this pivotal clash, the Hawks are rallying their fervent fanbase, calling upon their supporters to rally behind them in full force. The roar of the home crowd will fuel the Hawks’ on to secure a much-needed win. The team eagerly anticipates the electric atmosphere as they aim to harness the energy of their loyal fans in pursuit of a triumphant performance on their home court.  Fans can get their tickets from https://tktp.as/EQPDOX and will receive 25% discount by using the code ‘HAWKS25’
