Hawks Exit Cup In Manchster

In the second round of the National Cup,  West Yorkshire Hawks were on the road to the Manchester Magic, a team from the division above them. The Magic held their composure throughout and secured a impressive 91-49 victory.

 

From the opening tip-off, Manchester Magic came out with guns blazing, setting a blistering pace and asserting their control on both ends of the court. By the end of the first quarter, they had  amassed a commanding 27-10 lead, leaving the visiting Hawks scrambling to find their footing.

 

In the second quarter Manchester Magic extended their lead to 48-22 by halftime. Their aggressive approach on the offensive boards and an emphasis on scoring in the paint paid dividends as they consistently found ways to put points on the board.

 

West Yorkshire Hawks entered the second half facing an uphill battle. However, they showed commendable resilience in the third quarter, where they managed to increase their defensive intensity and only lost the quarter by just 2 points.

 

For the Hawks, Rob Donaldson emerged as a standout performer, delivering a stellar double-double performance with 23 points and 12 rebounds. Harrison Wildie also made his presence felt with 6 points and 5 assists, demonstrating his playmaking abilities.

 

With this National Cup clash now behind them, West Yorkshire Hawks shift their focus back to the league as they prepare to face City of Leeds. This eagerly anticipated matchup is scheduled for next Saturday (14th October) at 6:15 pm at the University of Huddersfield.
