Hawks Duo Selected for Maxi World Championships

West Yorkshire Hawks is celebrating an incredible milestone as two of its standout womens players, Ula Kostka and Vilma Jurgaityte, have been selected to represent Great Britain in the Women’s 35+ team at the Maxi World Championships next June. The tournament will take place in Ticino, Switzerland, where the team could face elite squads from Spain, Puerto Rico, Germany, Estonia, El Salvador, Ecuador, and Argentina.

Both Kostka and Jurgaityte have been instrumental in the successful launch of the Hawks Deighton women’s team, showcasing their talent and leadership on the court. Their selection to don the Great Britain jersey is a testament to their hard work, dedication, and outstanding contributions to the sport.

Hawks co-founder Mark Mills expressed his pride in the duo’s achievement, saying “This is a proud moment for the club and for both Ula and Vilma. They have been key to the successful launch of our women’s team, and they absolutely deserve this honour. As a club, we will be following their progress keenly next year.”
