Hawks Celebrate 'Year of Cheers' this Saturday

The West Yorkshire Hawks are set to welcome the Stockport Falcons this Saturday at the Hawks Nest, University of Huddersfield, for what promises to be an exciting National Basketball League Division 3 matchup. Tip-off is at 6:30pm, and the Hawks are riding high with a 4-1 record, sitting third in the league standings.

The Hawks come into this game with momentum on their side, having secured four wins in their first five games. The team opened their season with an emphatic 86-69 victory over the Falcons in Stockport, where Chris Jackman dominated with a game-high 23 points. Since then, the Hawks have shown steady improvement, and Head Coach Danny Byrne believes they’re hitting their stride at a pivotal time.

“I feel like we are starting to come together as a team and making good advances both in-game and in training,” Byrne said. “This run into the Christmas break is important for us, and we would love to keep the winning streak going on Saturday. I am also looking forward to celebrating 2024 with our amazing fans. They truly are a huge part of our success.”

Stockport, meanwhile, has struggled to find their footing this season. Sitting in 8th place with a 1-7 record, their lone victory came against the Manchester Kings.

Saturday’s game isn’t just about basketball—it’s a celebration of the incredible support the Hawks have enjoyed throughout 2024. To thank their fans, the team is offering an exclusive ‘Year of Cheers’ promotion with 50% off all tickets.
