Hawks Celebrate End of Inaugural Season

Smile Bar in Huddersfield was awash with excitement and anticipation on Sunday as the club’s players, family, friends, and dedicated volunteers came together to commemorate the culmination of their debut season. The atmosphere was electric as the club celebrated its achievements and honored standout performers.

 

The started with a bang as the University of Huddersfield presented the Hawks Young Player of the Year award to the promising Kesh Jalota. Jalota’s remarkable growth throughout the season has been nothing short of inspiring, promising a bright future ahead for the talented young athlete.

 

Fititude had the privilege of bestowing the Hawks Defensive Player of the Year award upon none other than club captain Jermayne Laing. Laing’s tenacity and leadership on the defensive end have been instrumental in the team’s success, setting a high standard for his peers.

 

Paladin Marketing proudly presented the Fans Player of the Year award to the hardworking Hassan Haq. Haq’s dedication, both on and off the court, has endeared him to supporters, particularly through his efforts in leading the club’s pre-game kids camps.

 

In a testament to his unwavering commitment and leadership, Jermayne Laing claimed his second honor of the night, the Teammate of the Year award, presented by Stafflex. Laing’s selflessness and leadership have been the driving force behind his teammates’ success.

 

The Drop Brand had the honor of presenting the Most Valuable Player award to the indomitable Rob Donaldson. Donaldson’s exceptional contributions on both ends of the court, highlighted by his jaw-dropping 50-point performance against Sheffield Elite, solidified his MVP status.

 

Amidst the celebration of individual achievements, the invaluable contributions of the club’s dedicated volunteers were also acknowledged. Their tireless efforts behind the scenes have been the backbone of the team’s success, earning heartfelt praise from players and coaches alike.

 

As the curtain fell on the festivities, anticipation is already high for the upcoming season, set to tip off in September. With the foundation laid, the Hawks are poised to soar to even greater heights in their second season.
